Taylor resting after 3F8 treatment.
September 18, 2008:
100% of all funds collected will go to The Band of Parents, a non-profit
assembled by parents of children suffering from neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is
an “orphan” cancer; pharmaceutical companies are not developing new treatments
because there is not a large enough patient base to make development
profitable. Funding from the government is similarly limited. Time is running
out for many of these children -- money stands between them and a cure.
The story of Taylor inspired the team at Salon Khouri to do something to help. Last year, we raised over $2,600 during the cut-a-thon, and this year, we are hoping to do even better! The cut-a-thon this year is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Haircuts by donation will be $25, or as much as you feel you can give. Below are some fast facts on how neuroblastoma affect our children:
To participate, please call Salon Khouri at 703.273.7878 or email the salon via our contact page. If you cannot participate but would still like to contribute, you can drop checks off at the salon made payable to the Band of Parents, or you can donate online via the www.bandofparents.org. 11725 Lee Highway, Ste.
