Many of you have asked, and we have answered! Salon Khouri is now offering thermal reconditioning (a.k.a Japaense Relaxer) services. Japanese Relaxer, or thermal reconditioning, is a straightening process that uses both chemicals and heat to soften the bonds of the hair, reforming the bonds in a straight pattern. The end result is glossy, smooth, perfectly straight hair that is actually more healthy than before the reconditioning process.

Thermal Reconditioning, when done using high end products by certified stylists, safely improves the texture of hair by loosening and reshaping the hair's cystine protein bonds. The use of heated flat irons during the process, in conjunction with neutralizers, closes the cuticle of the hair so that the hair remains straight.

Salon Khouri stylist Rebecca Garcia is Liscio certified having attended certification courses in New York City. The thermal reconditioning process takes about five to six hours, depending on the condition and length of the hair, and can be performed on clients who have color treated hair, or hair that has been highlighted up to 50%. As you can see in the before and after picture below, the results are extraordinary and can last for up to six months, depending on the rate of regrowth of your hair.
